We are approached by more and more men who want to know the joy of fatherhood. Surrogacy for a single man is a much easier process from a medical point of view, and much more difficult from a legal point of view. Ukrainian legislation in this area is controversial, disputes have not subsided for years. On the one hand, the desire of a man to become a single father is not prohibited, and on the other-is not welcome. The law "on health protection in Ukraine" provides for the right to use reproductive technologies for married and unmarried couples, as well as for single women. The rights of single men are not mentioned in the law. In most cases, the right to paternity of a child born by a surrogate mother has to be established through the court. There are many examples of a positive court decision in such cases. However, there are certain risks. The best solution is the selection of a woman who will be ready to participate in the preparation of legal documents for the surrogacy program. At the same time, officially registered marriage is not mandatory.
