For a moment, I thought that I would never become a Father.
I fell in love with a woman that didn't have a uterus and I had the choice of keeping the woman I loved or dumping her and finding a new woman that could make me a Father.
The choice was clear - love or children.
For centuries, a man would leave a barren woman for one that could bare him children.
Nobody would blame me, not even her, if I ran for the door and moved on with my life. After all, this is how it's always been done.Always.
Fortunately for us we live at a time where we have other options available to us.Through modern science and Community Support we could come together with others through Surrogacy, to have a child, and become a family.Surrogacy opened up a door for us that had been closed.
Fighting For Your Children to be Born Through Surrogacy
If you want to succeed at becoming a Father through Surrogacy, you can’t wait for the world to give you a child. You have to be a warrior fighting for your children.Babies born through Surrogacy are some of the most wanted, hardest fought for children every born.
You fight for your child to exist.
You fight for your future Family.
You fight for your idea and dream of having a child. For the longest time, your idea, the dream of being a father, is all you have that drives you.
That dream is as tender, delicate, and fragile, as that of any newborn.
You have to nurture your dream or it will not exist.
Your child will never be born.
Being a parent through Surrogacy is not something that you think about once and it magically happens. But, day by day, the dream turns into action, the action into results, and finally, you become a parent.
After Birth you have a new fight
It doesn’t matter how you child was born. All parents are the same. They want to protect their child from the world and make sure that they are safe at all times.
When your child is born through Surrogacy you worry about your child being accepted by the world at large. You want your child to be accepted by society.Just like every other parent wants the best for their child.
When you read stories online with headlines like “The Buying and Selling of Babies” you cringe. They are talking about your baby.
When someone you have never met or knows anything about you and your situation is bringing dishonor to you, your family, your community, and your child. It’s impossible to not be upset.
You can hide the facts of their birth, and nobody will know that they were born from Surrogacy. They will be accepted as a normal kid without any reservation.
But, living life as a lie is no way to live.
So Now I Fight Again
Now I fight again for my child.
I fight for her future.
I fight for Surrogacy Awareness so that my child can grow up in a world that accepts her and how she was born.
I just can’t write down my story once and expect it to change anything.Telling my story isn’t about putting words on the page, any more than being a parent is about the act of conception.
It’s about breathing life into something and then working to make sure that life becomes something beautiful.
That means asking other people without any reservation to share their Surrogacy story, because you know down to the depths of your soul that what you’ve done is good.
Being the Voice of Surrogacy
I can’t be the voice for everyone in the Surrogacy Community.
I only have my story to share. Not one of us can be the voice for all of us.
By sharing my own story, and giving others a platform to share their story, together we can share the story of our Community.
Surrogacy is a diverse, multi-cultural, multi-national experience that is very different for every person so only you can tell your individual and unique story.
Your story will not be the same as mine, we don’t have the same story to tell, but we can all relate to the same story, the story of fighting together for children, and I look forward to hearing yours soon.
