A same-sex couple from Cheshire who became adoptive parents are sharing their story in hopes of encouraging more LGBT+ partners to consider adoption and fostering.
Figures released by the Department of Education have revealed that in 2018 there were 450 adoptions by same-sex couples out of a total of 3,820 adoptions - equal to one in eight.
With it being LGBT+ Adoption and Fostering Week, Chester-based adoption agency Adoption Matters is sharing the stories of LGBT+ adopters and fosterers in a bid to get more same-sex couples adopting.
