Why I want to be an egg donor:

It’s an opportunity to help a couple have a family. I know… it’s cliché, but one of the biggest reasons I chose to donate my eggs was because I have the most incredible family. The opportunity to help another couple start their own family—with holiday traditions, inside jokes, and photo albums full of memories—was so very special to me.

I would describe myself as someone who is hardworking, reliable, and friendly. I am always willing to help out others, and I strive to be a good team player. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am also a big fan of sports, and I love watching both college and professional teams compete.

My letter to intended parents:

Dear Intended Parent(s), It’s incomprehensible to think we do not know one another personally, because in this moment, our lives are wholly intertwined. I understand the donor selection process is delicate, and I am honored you’ve entrusted me to play such a significant role in your journey. It was undoubtedly challenging for you to make a decision based solely on the information and images in a database, but rest assured I am fully committed to helping you feel confident in your selection throughout this process. As your donor, I have strictly adhered to the guidelines set forth in our agreement to maximize your chances of success and am pulling for a positive outcome upon completion of this cycle. The unknown can be scary, and right now, you’re probably feeling as though a major aspect of your future is in limbo. Please know that, with each injection, I’m envisioning the best-case scenario for your family. During early morning blood draws, I close my eyes and picture favorable numbers being reported in the afternoon, which will lead us closer to our common goal. And when I enter the hospital on retrieval day, I will hope the procedure yields positive results, as I’ve been rooting for you since the moment I found out I was selected to be your donor.
