Explain your reasons for wanting a surrogate/donor:

The cycle of life is a beautiful thing. Having children is an integral part of our (my husband Steve and my) life-plan as a couple. There is a lovely sense of wonder in watching a child grow from a baby into a toddler, into a young adult and beyond. Seeing their journey as they learn to master skills and helping them to reach for new heights and knowledge is a gift. Giving our child or children the love, safety, and opportunities to blossom is our goal. We will provide enriching experiences and support our child in finding his or her true passions and interests. We will share life as a family and be there with open arms to comfort and nurture. We can’t wait to be parents!

How would you best describe yourself(s):

Heather and Steve. It is rare to meet someone who shares so many of the same core beliefs, hobbies, interests and values. Often we find ourselves thinking of something and the other one of us will voice it out loud. Our partnership is made strong by both love and friendship. It is Steve’s sense of humor and my attention to detail that keeps us balanced. Steve is a loving, fun, creative, generous, playful, giving man with a terrific sense of humor. It was Steve’s sense of humor and generosity that drew me to him. On our first date he brought me a ton of treats for our night at the movies, and he also brought treats for my dog, Saffy, who has become quite the daddy’s girl. He is a great listener, a selfless partner and truly enjoys making others comfortable and happy. Steve and his brother own and run a radio advertising business. Steve is terrific at writing witty scripts and he is very talented at voicing different characters. His deep voice is great in the recording studio and his laugh is contagious. Steve has a positive attitude towards life and he always finds ways to see the upside of any situation. He is loyal, intelligent, creative and the good kind of dreamer. I am a nurturer and I love to spend quality time with those whom I love. I am musical and value integrity and friendship. I love to sing and have been teaching vocal and general music for twenty-two years. I have taught students of all ages from preschool to college and I have a great passion for helping my students to achieve both musical and personal successes. I enjoy instilling an understanding of what it means to work together as a team and share the joy of making something beautiful. I view my classroom as an extension of family and believe that while learning about music and other academic subjects is important, the most important things that our kids learn have to do with their character. I encourage my students to think about what kind of person they are and who they want to become. I tend to be a bit detail oriented when it comes to most things, but I am not judgmental and I enjoy listening to my friends talk about their lives. I have always dreamed of having children of my own.

Use this space to communicate a letter to potential Surrogates/Donors:

We are excited to start this journey with our surrogate! After over two and a half years of ivf, and an entire lifetime of wanting children, we are looking for a surrogate to help us realize our dreams of creating a family. We view our future surrogate as a guardian angel because she will watch over our baby/babies before they are born. This is a very special process and we are thankful in advance for this gift. It can be heartbreaking not to be able to have a child. We appreciate and admire those who choose to be surrogates because it will be our surrogate’s generosity of heart, body and mind that makes it possible for us, to complete our family. We hope to meet our surrogate and enjoy an easy relationship, sharing the journey of our baby’s growth. It is our hope that a friendship will form through the bond of this experience. Whatever happens naturally will be just fine. We will always cherish the person who serves as our surrogate and will respectfully tell our child about the loving way they came to be our baby.
