Explain your reasons for wanting a surrogate/donor:

After giving birth to my son via Cesarean, I had an emergency hysterectomy to save my life. My son and I were separated while I recovered in the ICU. We feel very lucky to have a healthy son, but we also dreamed of having two children. We hope a surrogate can help us fulfill that dream.

How would you best describe yourself(s):

We are a married couple with a beautiful son looking for an experienced gestational surrogate in the greater Bay Area or Northern California (ideal) to help us give our son a sibling.

Dear Surrogates, We are loving, respectful and committed people who are looking for the same in a surrogate. I am a midwife who has carried a child, so I feel I can connect to some of the experiences a surrogate will have in this journey. There will be other experiences to which I cannot relate, but we promise to remain open and hope to foster a relationship with a woman and her family that enriches the surrogacy journey. While we are open to many possibilities, our criteria are that the surrogate be gay- friendly and open to pregnancy termination for anomalies, although we will be doing PGD on the embryo (single embryo transfer only). For financial reasons, we need her to have own insurance or be eligible for Medicaid. Our goal is to work without an agency, but we are able to compensate a surrogate an amount that is commensurate with her experience and comparable to what is offered through agencies in California.
