Severe perinatal anxiety and depression (happen in both pregnancies I have had) makes it to risky for me to try another pregnancy, especially as my daughter needs her mama well!

We are a profession married couple in Sydney’s north shore with a wonderful biological 9 year old daughter.Circumstances have left our family with a hole, in the form of another Bub, that needs filling.Unfortunately years of trying various solutions, including another pregnancy (ending in tragic you and pain) and foster care have not worked, and surrogacy is our last chance.

Dear amazing individual, My husband and I have been married for 10 years and have a wonder biological daughter who is 9 years old.I am 34 years old and we live in the North Shore of Sydney. I suffered horribly with perinatal depression and anxiety when I was pregnant with my daughter.We decided that another pregnancy was not a good idea as my health had suffered so much the first time.I was devastated as we both love child and that’s why we had had tried for and conceived our daughter within our first year of marriage.However we had to put her first and I couldn’t see how I could care for her if it happened again. In *** we finally got the courage to try again.It was even more horrible than the first time and I lost the Bub at 14 weeks (not that I know how I would have survived the rest of the pregnancy).It was a girl and the whole thing almost broke me. The worst part is we are young and fertile but pregnancy messes with my mental health very badly.My husband is a doctor and I had professional health and meds but it still wasn’t enough.For our daughter’s sake we can’t do it again. We immediately begun the foster care process and were accredited in *** the whole thing was disappointed after disappointment and a suitable placement was never found for us.We just wanted to help a kid but had to be aware of a placement being suitable for our daughter too.We have withdrawn as foster carers as it became to painful to be waiting all the time and being messed around by the bureaucracy of it all. Surrogacy is really our last shot and unfortunately we don’t have a family member or friend who can help. We would provide everything we legally can (given Australia’s backwards regulations) for a surrogate.We would pay for a private obstetrician and hospital so the surrogate gets the best care.Also all possible costs we can get away with providing without breaking the law. We also intend to donate any unused embryos to a couple as a way to pay if forward.We are young and fertile so we believe these would really help another couple in Aus TTC.
