Explain your reasons for wanting a surrogate/donor:
Since it has been really hard now to find a surrogate in Canada, even with an agency, we are hoping to find a good hearted person who is willing to help us fullfilled our dream of having a child. It hasn't been easily lately with the failed transfers (5 in total), with the clinic that doesn't seem to try to find what went wrong and with the agency that doesn't reply to our messages. Now we are trying to find a surrogate without an agency. After being in the process for a little bit more than 3½ years, and having done a lot of research, we now know the steps and the procedures as well as the legislative aspects of surrogacy in Canada.
How would you best describe yourself(s):
We are a gay couple (29 and 35 years old) and we are looking for a surrogate in Canada. We are both professionals in medical field and we have been together for more than 8 years. I am from asian descent but my partner is French Canadian. We can speak English and French fluently. We are easy going people, who like to laugh, food, and travel. We have the feeling that we have enjoyed life a lot and we are now ready to move onto a next step of life, which is building a family, and hoping to show to our future child how beautiful the world can be. We have worked with an agency and had a surrogate but all transfers had failed. Unfortunately, we didn't have a good service with the clinic (hard to get any information) as well as with the agency (bad communication with them, plus wrong important information in the surrogate profile).
Use this space to communicate a letter to potential Surrogates/Donors:
Now we are changing clinic, one that is closer to home and has a good reputation and good success rate. We also plan to participate in their baby-guarantee program but they will be strict on the surrogate profile (weight, lining, etc). We are willing to pay all the expenses (travel, food, accomodation, medication, lawyer, etc) in the respect of the federal law. If you are a surrogate from Quebec, the law of surrogacy is different than other parts of Canada, but it is still possible and manageable to make an arrangement.
