My husband and I have two amazing boys. It broke our hearts when we learned that our first son had a genetic disorder. We had genetic testing done, and got the all clear to have another child. Shortly after our second son was born, we found out that he had the same genetic disorder. We are one of the “rare” cases and this type of germline mosaicism is only found in 2% of families affected by this disorder. Both boys are very mildly affected by their disease and we are so thankful for that. We have always wanted to have a big family and the boys have been asking for another sibling for so long. The only way to have another child would be through IVF with PGD. Shortly after having my second son, I developed a condition called adenomyosis. I was in so much pain and had such heavy bleeding. My doctor performed a uterine ablation on me. It relieved me of all of the horrible symptoms from my adenomyosis and I had my life back. I wouldn't have been able to take care of my young boys if I didn’t go through with the procedure. We feel like we have overcome a lot, but God has been so good to us. We would be forever grateful to anyone who would consider doing this for our family. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and have a blessed day!
