Explain your reasons for wanting a surrogate/donor:

We started trying to expand our family 14 years ago. We worked through Depelchin in Houston to become foster parents and try to foster to adopt. We took all of our required classes, attended Child Protective Services events, and we put our case study in to adopt a young boy. Another family was selected for his forever home. We also tried private adoptions twice. The first was a young mother that was just in her second trimester. We were all excited. The mother was excited that her child was going to have a loving home; we were excited that we were going to expand our family. We got more excited every time we went to the doctors appointments. Both times, the mothers decided to keep the babies.

How would you best describe yourself(s):

We are a loving couple that live in the suburbs. We both love seeing new cars being introduced, traveling, exploring new thing, baseball, and family.

Dear Surrogate, Thank you for taking the time to learn about us and possibly giving us the miracle of birthing our child. We started trying to expand our family 14 years ago. We worked through Depelchin in Houston to become foster parents and try to foster to adopt. We took all of our required classes, attended Child Protective Services events, and we put our case study in to adopt a young boy. Another family was selected for his forever home. We also tried private adoptions twice. The first was a young mother that was just in her second trimester. We were all excited. The mother was excited that her child was going to have a loving home; we were excited that we were going to expand our family. We got more excited every time we went to the doctors appointments. Both times, the mothers decided to keep the babies. We are a gay couple that have been together for the past 16 years. We met at Steven’s best friends house. I was hanging out in the pool at his best friends house, and Steven came over as well. His friend told him that we were perfect for each other. Steven and I saw each other out a few times after that. His friend and I had become gym buddies and I learned that Steven had fallen off of the roof of his house. It was on the way home after work, so I stopped by to check on him. He was a little surprised but wanted the company. We started hanging out together and formed a strong friendship that eventually turned into love. We decided to be together nine months after we first met and have been together since. Both of us have wanted to become parents for a long time now. We see the other children in the neighborhood playing and feel that desire. We live in a neighborhood with single family homes. It is nice to see the kids out riding their bicycles or playing at the park. Steven’s mom lives a few houses down. We all bought in the neighborhood so we could be close together. She has already made the remark that Memaw will be the built in babysitter down the street; she was excited to hear about this journey we are taking. I, Chris, have worked in Project Logistics for the past 15 years. It is something that I fell in love with and enjoy my work. Steven works as a Paralegal for a personal injury attorney. He loves that he gets to help people daily with their cases. We look forward to meeting our surrogate and hope that she is close. We would like to be a part of the journey. It would be great to be able to attend doctor’s appointments to find out how our baby and surrogate are doing throughout the process.
