Explain your reasons for wanting a surrogate/donor:
We started the IVF journey over 3 years ago but not long before the procedure was due I (Katrina) was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid. Although I've been taken medication for almost two years, my thyroid levels aren't coming down enough. Underactive thyroid can have implications for foetal brain development so I'm not able to go through with the IVF process until it's normal. We're not sure if it will ever reach the levels required so we've decided that surrogacy is the best route for us.
How would you best describe yourself(s):
A happy couple together for 12 years, married for 3 years. Both fit and healthy and enjoying life. Would love to start a family to complete the picture.
Use this space to communicate a letter to potential Surrogates/Donors:
We're looking for a a GS to help us on our journey. Preferably someone who's been a surrogate before and has their own children. Ideally someone not too distant from Greater Manchester as visits to the IVF consultant in Liverpool will be needed. A down-to-earth, kind and sensible person will hopefully be a good match for us. The IVF treatment will be in Cyprus so must be willing to travel there for a week's holiday, family welcome. If we're successful in starting a family we'd like to try for another baby in a couple of years so a GS who would be open to another round of surrogacy would be perfect.
