We have been married for 14 yrs (15 this Nov.) yay!! In that time we have had to be a rock for each other. We have had 3 miscarriages. Our 1st pregnancy was in *** next in *** and our most recent in *** and I miscarried just shortly after Mother's Day.As you can see there is quite a gap between pregnancies, my body just can't handle it.On top of that my husband has a genetic disorder that produces some tumors that we choose not to have passed to our children so we also have sought out a sperm donor (not w/this site). It has been a difficult road but through it all we know we have each other and our faith in God.I am now going on 37 and that can be mature for carrying a baby and with my history of miscarriage it does not look great for my chances for carrying to full term.We both agreed that it was time to seek outside help to begin our family.
I find it odd to "describe" myself in a little box.So I asked those around me to share a few thoughts on how they'd best describe me.The answers I received were so sweet, it not only reinforced how I feel about myself but that I'm giving my best to those I come in contact with. These were some of the words used to describe me via my friends & family. Intelligent, Warm, Friendly, Always willing to do for others, Thoughtful, Caring, Creative, Dedicated, Compassionate, Outgoing, Persistent, Loving, Spiritual, Kind and Protective. These are just a few, the list really went on but I hope it gives a little insight of how I'm viewed. It made my heart jump w/joy at the thought my circle views me in such a positive manner.
Dear Future Surrogate- My hope is that the short descriptions in the boxes above can help you see where our heart is for children.I have never dreamed of becoming a Mother until the day I met my husband. To share our lives w/a precious gift would mean the world to us.I'm sure a lot of IP's say that and we are no different, it really is the call of our life for children.I have never felt so deeply or passionately over something. It makes me smile when I think of all of the children in our lives both blood related and those of our friends. While stationed (my hubby is in the Army) overseas our neighbors have kids and I tell you, we are the hot commodity around here. The kids love to be around us, always at our home.I have had "sleepovers" w/my friends daughter and we bake cookies, watch Disney movies and it just so fulfilling to me.Our best friends had twins and they have given us the title "Auntie & Uncle" to their children.I will glady post a picture of Uncle napping w/his niece. My husband would make an amazing father, his heart is so big and his love know no bounds. We know, beyond a shadow of a doubt that God is true to HIS word and a desire for children won't go unfulfilled because God is good and we have faith that HE will bring and lead us to the right Surrogate. All of the photos you see w/children are with our friends children while stationed overseas. Thanks for reading about us.And we'd love to hear from potential Surrogates.
