We believe that the offer to be a surrogate is one of the greatest gifts you can give. We are looking for a surrogate to help us become parents and grow our family!
Hello! My name is Dan (27), and my husband is Eric (31). We’re very excited about this journey and the next chapter of our lives! We’ve been on our surrogacy journey for a year now - together with an incredible surrogate mother, a lifelong friend Egg Donor, and the support of CreateIVF and Sara Cohen Law. We are very fortunate to have 10 healthy embryos with PGS screening waiting at CreateIVF. After one failed transfer attempt, our wonderful surrogate mother informed us that due to external family complications, she wouldn’t be able to proceed as a surrogate. She has and will continue to be a close family friend for life. We believe that things happen for a reason, and that our previous round did not work because we were meant to bond with another amazing surrogate. A little about us 👬 We’ve been together for 5 years - getting married in the height of COVID-19 in the comfort of our back yard, with two close friends, and our two golden retrievers Halle and Lucy. We live in Burlington, Ontario in a home we’ve taken on as a project, doing countless renovations to make it our own. We’ve both had a natural drive, meeting every challenge with optimism, a bit of sarcasm, and the support of friends and family. Eric works for the City, managing building permits, rentals, events and staff. He also spends time helping all of our local neighbours with general contractor work around their homes. Dan works full-time in a remote Marketing Director role, additionally owning a YouTube/media business. Together we’ve taken on the task of updating our initially dated home, buying two additional investment properties as landlords/property managers, and running an online store. Our lives have been fast-paced, and exciting, and we’re now ready to bring that attention to our growing family. Our Surrogacy Journey 👨👨👦 In the height of the pandemic Dan’s family grew rapidly. His two sisters got into relationships with their partners that both already had two kids. Our family suddenly grew from one nephew to five in what seemed like overnight. The rapid growth and time spent with our nieces and nephews (included in photos) confirmed what we already knew: we wanted a family of our own. When we picked up and moved from Toronto to Burlington in the pandemic, we had no idea that one of our neighbours in the community would soon become a close friend, and volunteer to be our surrogate. We also had no idea that a lifelong friend would volunteer to be an egg donor. Scenarios like this seem like the stars are aligning and don’t happen every day. Through these relationships we grew closer than we ever expected with everyone involved. Both of these amazing women were giving the largest gift they could ever give us - and with that they’ll always be a part of our lives. After one unsuccessful transfer our surrogate let us know about unexpected pressures and judgement she was receiving from family and friends as a result of the surrogacy. Our stance was always to look out for the safety and health of everyone involved in this process. It was immediately clear that this was no longer the right situation for her to be in. It’s been a little over a year since our surrogacy journey began, and we’re now looking for our future surrogate to continue this journey. We do not look at this process like a transaction and we want to find the right fit for a lifelong friend in this process. We’re hopeful that the right fit is out there! We’re excited for what the future holds and believe that what’s meant to be will happen when the time is right. Feel free to DM and connect with us - whether you’re also Intended Parents or a Surrogate looking to begin the journey. We’re happy to share more about our journey, or just make friends in the process 👋
