Why I want to be a surrogate mother:

Description of myself:
I am 34 years of age. I was born and raised in Virginia but have lived in Ohio for the past 10 years. I recently got married but have been with my spouse for almost 9 years. We bought our first house in March of 2024 and had a daughter in June of 2024. I enjoy spending time with my family and look forward to seeing our daughter grow.
My letter to intended parents:
I have wanted to be a surrogate for some time now but did not want to go through the conventional means of becoming one. I do not work with an agency, so anyone who would be interested in having me as a surrogate would need to work out the terms of the surrogacy with me, consulting a lawyer as needed. I want to be as honest about myself as possible. My reason for not wanting to work with an agency is due to a previous having Hepatitis C. Please note that I no longer have the disease. I secured treatment the moment I was diagnosed. It cannot come back and I cannot pass it onto a fetus as there is no active disease. I have done extensive research to determine that there is no risk to the baby. A medical professional can run tests to determine that I no longer have active Hep C. I would gladly run these tests myself and send them to any potential parents interested in me. Aside from this, I am healthy. I have had no other diseases, STI’s or STD’s. I have never smoked. I have had three successful pregnancies and once miscarriage. All three successful pregnancies consisted of healthy babies. My most recent birth was in June of 2024. I am open to both traditional and gestational surrogacy. I am also open to working with all couples and single parents. While I no longer have Hep C and pose no risk to the baby, I understand there is a stigma against it. I won’t be working with an agency and there would be no agency fees because of this. I would only ask that medical fees be paid in addition to any legal fees incurred by the parents, in addition to a small compensation amount agreed upon by all parties. I would not ask for the typical amount that most surrogates are paid because of my previous medical condition.
