Why I want to be a surrogate mother:
I am seeking to give back, as you would say. I have a close friend that is struggling with fertility and lost a set of twins. Until I met her, I had no idea of the emotional suffering and of the void. I would like to give the gift of life to a genuine caring person/couple. I have never done this before, so it will be an experience, one that I believe I would be blessed to share.
Description of myself:
I am a licensed practical nurse, and have been for 11 years. I am 30 years old and a have a daughter. I am in a stable relationship and content with my life. I have witnessed life being born, and I have sat with many as they passed on. It has taught me that life is fleeting, but also so precious. I love doing arts and crafts such as painting, scrapbooking, quilting. For 8 years, I worked as an assistant to a Director of Nursing, caring for developmentally disabled patients. Before that, I worked with elderly and geriatric patients. I created plans of care, and helped educate Guardians or Power of Attorneys understand changes in care, and new diagnosis so that they could make an educated decision on what they thought was best for their loved one. After so many years of caring for patients to the end, I am eager to give life and joy. I can be goofy, but am on point with my career. I now work at a Doctor's office, and help provide care to patients aged new born up to geriatric patients.
My letter to intended parents:
Dear parents, I am here if you choose me. Above, I have told you about myself, and why I want to go on this journey with you. I am sure you are terrified about finding the "perfect" surrogate. Pray, and let your instincts guide you. You will do great! Hang in there, and don't lose your faith. I must note, that I am unwilling to use my own eggs, but will gladly and safely carry another's eggs/embryo. I can promise you I will keep you updated as much as you would like. I can only try to understand your emotional aspect of this process. If you would like pictures, letters, personal visits, pregnancy mold, maternity pictures, I am open to it whole heartedly, to help provide bonding during pregnancy. Thank you, Kayti
