I am an RN and a mother of 4. My instinct and purpose in life is to help people; my world is my children. I cannot imagine the feelings of exhaustion, disappointment, and discouragement that are felt with an unsuccessful pregnancy, while wanting a family so badly. I want to be able to give a deserving couple the gift of life. I want to help a certain special lady experience the wonderful feeling of holding her own biological infant and knowing that it is her baby for a lifetime.
I am an RN and a mother of 4 children. My children are 12, 7, and the twins are 2. Each of my pregnancies were very healthy with no complications noted. All of my children were delivered on their due date, except my 12 year old. She was my first delivery, and she was a little stubborn. She was delivered at *** the morning following her due date. I went into labor naturally, my OBGYN broke my water for me, and then I delivered with epidural. My son's delivery was a scheduled induction. He is my 7 year old. There were no complications with his delivery either. I did have an epidural with him, as well. The twins, who are almost 2 years old were a scheduled C-section. My OB-GYN delivers all of her multiples pregnancies via C-section, which reduces the chance of Baby B becoming breach after delivery of Baby A. She states that this reduces the risk of any complications associated with oxygen deprivation during delivery, which could lead to CP or other life-long complications for the child. Even though there are many advantages to vaginal delivery, I decided to deliver C-section to reduce the risk of complications for my girls. My OB-GYN scraped my membranes a week before the C-section to try to induce the labor process a little bit. I was in nursing school at the time, and because of testing purposes for school, I wanted to deliver a few days earlier than the scheduled section. I only had 2 contractions that night. So we went with plan A and waited for the section. I feel like I am a very strong person mentally. I delivered the twins on a Thursday and took my last unit exam for my associate degree 1 week and 1 day following their delivery. Don't get me wrong, it was a little challenging; however, I handled it well, I received a B on my exam, and everyone was happy and healthy. I was able to graduate from nursing school when the twins were 3 weeks old, and all 4 of my children were rooting me on at graduation. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I would be happy to assist you with any further information or questions that you may have. I wish you good luck on your adventure!
