Why I want to be a surrogate mother:

The obvious answer is that I want to share what has been my greatest joy with hopeful parent (s) who are unable to carry their own child. I was very happy and healthy during both my own pregnancies, bounced back well, and enjoy the experience too much to not consider this. The less obvious answer is that providing for 2 children as a single mother is rather difficult, especially when it is a priority to be present in their daily lives. I have their futures to consider as well as a desire to feel more prepared for the unexpected. This would allow me to provide these needs without having to increase my work hours outside the home and away from them.

Description of myself:

Curious and open to life and it's mysteries, I try to find beauty and humor in all things. I am very emotional and in tune with the emotions of others. I temper this by making jokes or attempting to observe things with a scientific brain. I view the world from a global or wide-scope perspective and so, easily find the connections between things seemingly separate but can also overlook the details at times. I feel I have a solid balance of logic and artistry. I spend my time writing, dancing, playing music and reading. My other great love is to be outdoors. My children and I are very active in these pursuits. Among our common activities are hiking, long boarding, snowboarding, fishing, camping, bug and plant collecting, gardening and group sports. I am currently working as a chiropractic assistant while I continue my college education toward becoming an environmental engineer. I also study Spanish and music as I aspire to always write and some day travel with my work. I have two children of my own, ages 7 and 1. They are the greatest gift and love of my life. I suppose I'm to be the one teaching them but really, I learn more from raising them than I ever feel I teach. I have mostly worked as a nanny since my oldest was born, in order to be home with them. Even now I work and attend school part time, inching along my path toward financial and vocational success, as I doubt there could be anything more valuable than the time I spend with them now. Everything else can wait.
