Why I want to be a surrogate mother:

I feel an obligation to "give back" after being able to conceive and carry my own children without issue, and having seen friends go through infertility struggles I understand how heartbreaking the route to surrogacy can be.

My letter to intended parents:

I have my own (completed) family and work full time so I have a busy life. I am looking for a friendly but not intense surrogacy journey. I'm not looking for intended parents to live in my pocket! Friendship would be nice if it happens naturally but I have learned that trying to force this doesn't work and causes stress so I'm not looking for a lifelong best friend from this. My husband and children are fully supportive of the surrogacy process. I want to be able to choose how I manage my pregnancy and birth without interference, and would prefer IPs who are happy not to attend birth. I am a private person, I don't use social media and do not want to take part in media coverage of surrogacy. I make no profit from surrogacy but expect my expenses covered including necessary childcare, maternity clothing, loss of earnings if required to take unpaid leave from work, travel costs to appointments, etc. My expenses are high, mostly due to childcare for 5 children, and are not negotiable. I expect a sensible period of discussion prior to trying to conceive in order to work out if we agree on important issues such as termination, travel, expenses, contact, complications etc. I am not a budget nor a "rush job" surrogate, and I am looking for intended parents who appreciate why this is important, for both mine and their protection. I am fully aware of UK surrogacy laws and would like parents who have done their research and are aware of the limitations, timings, court process etc. I really don't mind sharing my experience but don't want to have to "hand hold" too much 😁 If you "click" with the above and think I sounds like the type of surrogate you're looking to work with, please get in touch for an informal chat via message.
