Why I want to be a surrogate mother:

Ohhh I have so many reasons! Obviously, the first reason is to help a someone or a couple grow their family.I know having my daughter rocked my world in the best way and I want that for anyone who dreams to have a child as well.Secondly, I loved being pregnant and going through the birth process.I believe I am done having my own children (who knows though…), but for now, I would love to go through the process again.I also want my daughter to experience me pregnant.She's enamored with babies and pregnancy, so it would be fun to share that with her while also showing her how to help people in such a big way.The last thing I will mention is that I am a doula and becoming a surrogate myself would be the best learning experience to be able to know how to help both surrogates and intended parents through this journey.

Description of myself:

Hello there! My name is Ariana or Ari.I am originally from Arizona, but have been in the Portland area of Oregon for 16+ years.I have been a bartender for 10+ years, but I found my true calling as a full spectrum doula after I had my daughter 4 years ago.I have been serving pregnant people and new parents for the last two years and loving every minute of it. I live with my husband and my daughter is with us most of the week and a few days with her biological dad.We all love to garden, watch Bob's Burgers, making and eating all of the food.We recently got chickens are absolutely obsessed with them! I am a kitchen herbalist, am diving into learning to identify native plants in my area, cycling on my stationary bike, constantly am changing my hair style, am learning to become a better ally for BIPOC and LGBTQIA people, learning how to can food, and avidly studying astrology. I began my journey into surrogacy last year and have actually been working with a family through an agency.We unfortunately just ended our contract because my uterine lining has not had the chance to get thick enough for what the fertility clinic deemed suitable.The long story short is that I have had an IUD in for four years and has been out now since December *** just needs a few more months to get back into its normal rhythm.Everything else about my health and uterus is ready for pregnancy.I am happy to go into more detail once we have chatted a bit, but I just wanted you to know that I have been completely screened for surrogacy through this process.I have also learned A LOT throughout this last year especially when it comes to a local fertility clinic.

My letter to intended parents:

Dear Intended Parent/Parents, I cannot begin to understand what it has been like for you to wait for your future child.I dream all the time of giving birth to a baby that my body has supported for nearly a year and passing them into the loving arms of their parents.It gives me goose bumps.Whoever you are, I want this for you so much! One of the most important parts of surrogacy for me is that I as the surrogate am viewed as an important part of the process and treated with respect and as a human.While surrogacy exists to make babies for families, I want for surrogates to not be viewed just as vessels.They are just as much a part of the process as the baby and the intended parents are.I am looking for intended parents who are willing to stay connected with me and my family through all of this.I would be so happy to know how you are all doing down the road and to see pictures of your child from time to time.
