Explain your reasons for wanting a surrogate/donor:

After four years of miscarriages, five rounds of egg retrievals and one failed transfer, our doctor asked if we had considered a carrier.We were not expecting to hear that, since we had only had one transfer done, with a frozen genetically normal embryo.In the past, my doctor seemed to think that my miscarriages were due to chromosomal issues with the embryos, but now the doctor seemed puzzled over my lining and was concerned if he could truly "get it right" for another transfer.Ugh! We left the appointment with mixed emotions, and said we would take a break from the fertility circus for a while.Years of fertility meds and procedures had taken a big toll, both physically and emotionally.I was 42 at the time and wanted nothing more than to get pregnant myself and give birth, so the thought of this possibly not happening for me was hard to process at first, but as time went on I accepted that surrogacy was most likely our best chance for having a baby. As we started to explore surrogacy about 2 years ago, we found this site.However, we never moved forward with this journey at that time as I became pregnant naturally (but it sadly ended in another miscarriage).We since then have changed clinics and last year we embarked on a GS journey with a wonderful woman, however it sadly came to an end last month after a failed transfer.It was a huge emotional set back for us, as we had been so hopeful that the transfer with our GS would indeed work right away and that we could have then tried another FET with me using our remaining two embryos. This is when the stress and realization set in, that even with a GS it may take multiple transfers in order to be successful.So with only 2 embryos left, we've decided to give it one last try to create more embryos before it is too late (using my own eggs).However, if my eggs fail, then we will move on to donor eggs this spring.We really hope to add to our 2 frozen PGS tested embryos, so that we may increase our chances of having a baby, either through surrogacy or with me.

How would you best describe yourself(s):

I'm a good hearted, openminded, "young" 44 year old woman, almost always with a smile on my face .I love helping people, whether it's through my job, during volunteering, or while I'm just out an about.I'm very ambitious, and have a strong work ethic.I can also be quite the control freak! I'm all about the small details, so a 5 minute story usually ends up taking me 20 minutes to tell (HA!).I'm very dedicated and determined and my motto is to never ever give up! I believe that things do happen for a reason, and I truly hope that we will one day be able to sit there and look back at our journey and understand and appreciate all the detours that we encountered on our path to parenthood.My husband is very caring and considerate.He is outgoing and hardworking, and like myself he is also bi-lingual and has also traveled the world.We both love to travel and enjoy learning about different cultures.He loves to work out and do projects around the house with me (he is very handy!), and he is very good with computers.We both love to cook and watch movies, and we enjoy doing yardwork, and spend time with our families and friends.We are recycling fanatics.:)

Use this space to communicate a letter to potential Surrogates/Donors:

We have been together for over 10 years, and are in a loving and stable relationship and want nothing more than to become parents.We love children! (Pictures are of our nieces and nephews).But we need some help, from a GS and/or egg donor. If you were to ask who the perfect candidate would be for us, it's actually hard to answer that question.We are open minded people, and are concerned that we could be loosing out on a perfect match if we are too specific regarding our criteria.But as a GS, it's important that you have had at least 1 child, and it's a bonus if you have been a surrogate before and if you have health insurance that does not carry a surrogate exclusion.Something that is non-negotiable is our stance on smoking and drugs.As far as an egg donor, we would prefer someone with similar traits to myself (i.e.blue or green eyes, light or dark blonde hair).A bonus would be that you have Scandinavian traits, like us! :) If you like our profile and would like to connect, we would love to hear from you!
