How would you best describe yourself(s):

We are a couple who have been married and together for 10 years. Ours names are Nicholas Katsepontes (age 57) and Dr. Fotini (Tina) Sampalis age 55. We are both of Greek descent and place great emphasis upon family. We were drawn together by our heritage and our desire to form a family together with children who would be the central focus of our life. Nicholas works as a lawyer and Tina is a medical doctor currently the owner of a well-known pediatric health and wellness center. We are both professionals and have done a variety of things with our respective careers including law, medicine, building our own companies and while our work and career achievements are important they do not define us as human beings. Tina has developed and runs one of the largest pediatric clinics in Quebec and her motivation for creating this clinic for children was the fact that we could not get access to good doctors for our first child Peter who is now 7 years of age. We like to think we can do things in our careers and our work to make the world a better place for all little miracles, our kids. We live in Laval, Quebec in a larger home that centers around Peter, his education, his toys and creating a fun environment for all of us There are lego sets and Thomas the trains everywhere; we like to have an environment in our home that is kid oriented. For us, family and creating a good foundation in a home that is family oriented is very important. For us sitters and nannies are not substitutes for hands on involvement regardless of how busy we are with our careers. Peter has never stayed home with a babysitter. If need be, we always rely on relatives and very close friends. We place a lot of emphasis on spending time together doing everything from family outings, sporting events, travel, cooking together, entertaining family, shopping, music and movies. Peter craves to have a sibling. Every morning he asks us if today is the day that God will put a baby in mommy’s tummy. It breaks our heart to have to come up with one excuse after the other, We want to have more children; we have so much love to give as parents and Peter as a big brother. We have an extensive family support system which includes Tina’s brother John and his wife Stella who are very supportive of and close to Peter. We expect the same involvement on their part with all our children if we are blessed to have more. We want to have an involved yet comfortable relationship with our surrogate. We will be as involved in the pregnancy as she feels comfortable with and we greatly appreciate and respect the role of the surrogate in helping us create a family.
